Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
@Vivmoon, Welcome... I too used to be an avid hiker so we share that in common. My profession was for years I worked as a librarian and I worked as a social worker. I came to DS out of sheer loneliness. I live in the country and due to my Epeilepsy I can not drive, thus I am a bit isolated from everyone. Our Access Bus only comes to my area twice a week, so that makes trips to town limiting. DS has really filled a void for me and I am so grateful. I feel like I have a friend network who understand me. And I really feel at home here. I think that if you give yourself a chance you will fit right in! Again Welcome! Hugs!
@Enima, I started crying when I read your post. First of all, I too have a son who I adore and we used to do outings together like that. I am so glad that you are Doing with your son, I know it is not easy. My son was young when I was DX'd and it was a difficult road. But I always tried to participate with family ottings. Even when I was wheel chair bound we used to have, wheel chair races. And I even took my wheelchair on the beach and on hiking trails, using special wheels of course. So, I commend you for staying so active with your son. My son today has wonderful memories, and thinks of me as of a fighter...not one to give up. And I wanted to say how wonderful it was that your sister responded in the way that she did. It was very affirming. You had a great day thank you for sharing it with us! Hugs!
@Cherry, You are so lucky to have such a close relationship with your sister. Treasure her! I certainly treasure you! What is going on with those legs of your's? Is it nerve pain? You need to give us a little detail. So update us as soon as possible because we all love you and are concerned about you. Hugs!
As for me....I am doing much better now with the Gabapentin and am so grateful. My pain level is back down to a comfortable 3-4. I can live with that. It makes me feel like getting out of bed in the morning again...a good feeling! My neurologist wants me to begin a MS drug to prevent exacervationtions and we will disscuss the ramifications in two week. These are weekly injectables, self-administered. I am not keen on this prospect, but I have grand children and would like to be around to see them grow up. Well, I hope this finds you all enjoying your weekend. Hugs to you all, Cathy

Though Winters are very long in Vermont, I stay because my 'people' are here. People often ask why I stay and that's always my answer. I am lucky enough to have my Parents who are 85 and 88...and go dancing whenever a band they like is playing! My Mom's Sister who is 82. My Dad's Sister's...82, 92 and 94! My three Sons and two Grandchildren. My daughter-in-law is extraordinary as are the women my younger sons are with.
And my wonderful older Sister with her boundless energy!
I am so blessed and wish so much that everyone could be.
Sending healing energy to you

All you guys mean so much to me. I took yesterday off. Angela, we're here for you. Cathy, Ama, Cherry, Manny..........just off the top of my head, I am overwhelmed by the support here.
If I didn't mention your name, you know me by now, and you were not left out of my "mind list". You're all on my "heart list"!!
I am doing OK. I worked Midnight to 5:00 Sunday and then woke up to go to church, so I'm a little tired today.
I hope you all have a great day.
It's that time again............(calling all lookers) Let's hear a shout out!!!
Big Hugs,
David.
Thanks for the warm welcome Cathy. I enjoyed reading all the encouragement and support everyone offers. It really helps. Completed a very few chores this morning and had to sit down. It was beginning to hurt. Cherry, I pray your legs start working for you. Has this happened before? I hope the doctors are able to help you. I pray everyday for a cure for all of us.
Enigma, I'm glad your sister was supportive. My younger sister has been super supportive since my problems started in February. I am deeply grateful to her.
Sending hugs and love to everyone. Hope it is a good day for us all.

This morning I woke up with more nerve pain, I think it is due to the sudden change in the weather. But zowie it smarts. So I am off to a roaring start.
Today I am going to focus on calling around the state to available rental properties. I have decided to broaden my search to state wide to give me more options. I am of course only choosing communities I would care to live in. Wish me luck!
I hope this finds you all comfortable and doing something you enjoy. Hugs, Cathy
I wish healing to all of you who are struggling. May you find joy today and relief from pain.
Hugs to all!
Ama
can I join your family. I don't mind snow. I live in upstate Ny now. I wish i had a family more than anything. I hope someday I will meet someone who has a great family or just a man that loves for who I am and not my limiations. I have a biological family more than most but they aren't around not do they care what goes on with me.
