Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

O and yes finding true love is the cure to all illnesses (in all the movies it cures all the maidens from their ills). Except when your true love only loved you in the summer when you were feeling healthy and is now calling you immature and irresponsible because you can't take on much more responsibilities than keeping yourself alive and breathing from one day to the next and can't understand what happened to you.
I did not know you had not taken Jesus into your life. You didn't step on my toes but I do appreciate you letting me know the situation.
I see where you were speaking from. I agree with you.
Many faiths teach us to be kind and considerate but Jesus has the unique place of being God incarnate.
He is worth taking Him into your life.
Thanks for your kindness regarding this.
Gotta love these old sayings, at least we can get a good laugh out of them.
hugs,xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Really!
I really really believe that my pain meds are strong enough to get rid of all my pain. Why am I still in pain?
I don't even know there is snow coming or the weather is changing soon, but the pain comes BEFORE I see the weather report. So is that BELIEVING that the pain will be worse? HOW? I did not even know the surprise cold spell was coming.
Is it at all possible that physical disease is a painful process?
I wonder what that coffee does to the colon! Seems like it would eat throu the lining with too much use. Can't imagine how that is helpful
We need to carry with us a list of things we have tried unsuccessfully when we go to our doctor appointments. Then when doc mentions for the third time "you should try ___" we can show him our list that documents the last three times he told you the same remedy that doesn't work.
This is such a great thread. Keep 'em coming.
O I just remembered something that one of my first neurologists told me the reason for my joint pain, nausea, and headaches was. What was his ingenious diagnosis you ask? Well it is obvious...STRESS TADA!!!! I was getting all these symptoms in the middle of Summer back in middle school when I had no responsibilities or anything that was a possible stress aside from the fact I was going through puberty. Apparently I needed to acknowledge the elephant that was in the room that we had all been obviously ignoring and I needed to go to a psychiatrist (the answer for when doctors can't come up with an actual diagnosis).
But really please tell me, "Why is it you are still complaining about the same issues? You know it is going to be for life, so just accept it and move on and try to live."
Yeah, like pain just stops hurting after awhile or perhaps I just stop feeling. Does a cook stop feeling burns and cuts just because they happen a lot?
I don't wish my pain on anyone bu8t just for a minute....all those standing in the way of pain relief. They sure would get out of the way if they could feel it!!!! They say what goes around comes around but I never see that happening...never see them finding themselves in severe chronic pain! Not yet anyway. Where is this carma? I think the world needs a good dose of it NOW.
God bless us and keep us strong enough to endure...
Anne
And livewithhope I have the same feelings! If all the doctors that stand in the way of giving treatment had to deal with the pain we feel everyday for even a minute they would understand and step aside and let us feel better (one can hope). Karma seems to be rather lacking because I have yet to see any of the board members of the IDSA, who say chronic Lyme disease is just an autoimmune response and nothing can be done so you just have to live with it, get chronic Lyme Disease (I both don't wish this disease on anyone and on them at the same time). Bet the docs would be singing a different tune if they got diagnosed with some of our diseases and had to live with them.
Accept it as part of your life and get on with it = I don't know how to help you so go away and leave me alone.
Something like that.
Course the minute they stand up, we get to kick again REALLY HARD!
And we choose the number of kicks randomly without telling them how many times before the "procedure" starts.
Of course, if they really can't take it, we can always give them a 1/2 tylenol for pain.
