Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

We can pick you up and get you home --------------
Yeah right, not sure if I can do something tomorrow let alone in two weeks.
I think the physical body is affected by how we feel mentally and spiritually.
I'm not saying get out and walk or exercise, unless you are able to do that for a specific period of time. I'm just saying let the eyes see things in nature, or maybe go to an art museum, it's quiet, you can use a wheelchair or just sit in a park looking at a pond, or watching children play, if that's what you enjoy. The body needs to feel the sun, the wind, unless that makes your skin hurt.
Do something to exercise your mind, find something to be grateful for.
My perspective always changes for the better when I get outside of my man made box.
I think of what happens to children when there's a lack of stimulation, they fail to thrive. I think we all know how devastating it is for an older person or disabled person to be institutionalized with cold floors, ugly walls, bright lights and constant disturbances.
I'm just saying it doesn't matter what other people suggest. There is truth in some of it, even if they don't understand our pain.
Today the wind is blowing hard, the sun is shining warm and there's a spot just out of my back door where I can sit protected from the wind and let the sunshine warm my aching bones.
You know that there will be a discussion about what to do about you, whether you are addicted to pain meds or if there is really any thing wrong with you, after all you looked fine the last time they saw you. What are the doctors doing? If it was really that bad they would do surgery or something.
At least one person will call and offer to come get you and when you explain you really cannot they will try to get as much info out of you for further discussion at the table. "I offered and she still said no. Said she can't sit that long. She sounded kind of funny, maybe she is on too much medication..." (It occurs to no one that this good will call is awkward at best to defend why you cannot come and it isn't because you don't want to be there)
An intervention will be discussed by dessert but loses steam when no one can settle on a time they are free and not everyone can do a video conference. The gossip of that dinner you missed will be told to anyone else who is not there for actual good reasons like not having a babysitter, work, or other commitments and some will be pissed off that you just made excuses not to come.
Remember these are the people that love you.
(I'm sure it's better than the Trazodone)
Sorry I couldn't tell you the rest rest I blanked out right after I heard the word TRIED and started making my grocery list in my head. Guilty!
Maybe your pain was all in your head. I know you are giving me a headache!
