on the matter regarding a dating relationship. i have been dating a woman for a out 3 months, and she is starting to dictate who my friends are. I have a female friend that is like a sister to me and I am now being told that I talk to and visit her way to much. C (the lady I am dating) doesn't have a problem if I hang out with my guy friends and do whatever..... but she doesn't believe that males and females can be friends with out hanky panky going on.......Several women on the boad know me, and we have hung out at some meetups......I consider them as friends and can talk and visit, the feel as if they are family. This seems like she is asking me to give up family.....and I am fairly sure the next step will be to not hang with the guy friends...... and then family....I have

The more input I get form you, the more it forces me to look at the control issue....very VERY possible....She always ask in a text message "Where are you?" and Then "What are you doing?".."Text me when you get home!"...... asnd if i don't respond right away she starts texting like crazy......even if I am at work.......
Friendship is a choice like any other.
Not all opposite sex friendship have a sexual attraction involved. When there is an sexual attraction doesn't mean it will become more than just friends. No person can tell me that they slept with every friend they thought dirty about secretly. I know how many friends some of you guys have. I also know that in most cases nothing more than friendship will happen.
But let's not pretend male and female friendships never crossed into something more.
We see betrayal on these boards (well, mostly the Infidelity board) along these lines everyday, no?
The issue is one of context and potential to build emotional walls between you and a significant other.
Infidelity come from that person in the relationship making a decision to cheat or crossing boundaries that they shouldn't do. Just because you have opposite sex friends you find attractive doesn't mean you're a cheater.
