Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
You're amazing too :) Xoxox You are fantastic for remaining pull free, what a star. You're right, barriers help, but only when you're committed.
So I found out last night, completely by accident, that today is World Trichotillomania Day, and that there's going to be a Trichnic in London to celebrate it. What are the odds that I find out about this event a day before it happens, a week before I leave London?? So I figured I HAD to go to it. I called the organizer to get details. It's going to be held at a hair salon and there will be drinks & food for free and around 20 or so people, I believe. Pretty casual, but private. I've committed myself to going, but not sure how I feel about it yet--a little nervous. Wish you guys could come with.
I wish I could be open with it and "come out" with my trich to everyone. I wish I could actively fight against the stigma associated with it and try to help other people suffering from it by speaking up about it, especially since I've always wanted to be a catalyst for positive change and help those in need who are oppressed or silenced, but I can't--it's just too personal and I can't separate it from myself. I'm a bit ashamed of my cowardice on this. But I know you guys won't condemn me for it at all :)
Well, as far as good news goes, it's World Trich Day and I'm still pull-free! :)
Oh my gosh GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO I wish I could go too! You'd feel so great if you go I'm SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know what you mean, I'm the exact same way... Helping people on these boards is one thing, and within the confines of a private group, I could do that. But publicly being an advocate, EEEEEEEEEK! Something I COULD do is making some posters to create awareness in my area. But yeah, you're not a coward. You're great. And maybe one day you could fight publicly.
Yay for World Trich Day and being pull free :) !!!!!
I WOULD GO TOOO!!! GOOOOO!!! omg i wish they had those things here. IM JEALOUS!! go meet fellow trichsters, eat and drink free food. They might even give u tips!! how awesome. GO GO GO GO GOG

AND CONGRATS ON BEING PULL FREE!!! *twirl*
HAPPY WORLD TRICH DAY TO YOU, TOO :D Lots of love to you.
Pull-free still going well.
Hooray for being out of her life, yuck. You should punch her in the neck before you leave. Just sayin.
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard when I read what you wrote, Sam. I'd love nothing better than to punch her in the neck. Thanks for the support :D
Your roommate... is PSYCHO. Seriously, whats wrong with her?? Just pretend shes not there. People like that... waste your time . Don't bother with her at all. Don't even acknowledge her presence. psycho.
40 minutes!! eeeeeeks!! I found this great app on my phone. It tells you exactly when a bus will arrive. It is amazing!! You should look for that!! :)
Wow Alex, that's crazy! Madness! Must be some kind of tracking device as buses are do damn unpredictable.
Hahaha oh Sam. You crack me up. You know, I COULD fight--I have a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and have taken a bunch of self-defense classes, so I have plenty of experience beating people up--but I'm terrible about standing up for myself to people I know. If that makes any sense.
Anyways, still pull-free. Wish hair had grown long enough for me to go wigless in the plane, especially since my wig's looking rather raggedly despite the fact that I only bought it 6 weeks ago. Oh well.
STILL PULL FREE, my hero. I'm struggling making it past 1-2 days pf at the moment. Oof.
Lovely that your internship went so well that you're sad to leave, what a great experience, (apart from PB!)
x
u are still pull free. CONGRATSSSSS.
