Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Keep your barriers close at all times, that you can put your scarf on each time you feel an urge or you notice your hands going up there.
Sounds like the interview went really well! I hope you'll get good news soon :-)
Thank you Mid :) Thank you Phoebe :) Thank you Lien :) !!!
Oof, Monday was a BAD day for me, and I did a lot of pulling. A score of 9 I'd say. Yesterday was better, but still not good. A 6. Today I've already reached a low 4, but I was/am being much more vigilant.
I'm back into the automatic pulling again (it really only takes one day off the wagon). I took a pic of my bald spot for motivation. Well I have two, one on the top of my head near the back about an inch by and inch in size (I'm using that measurement for you Americans). The other one is at the front of my scalp on the hairline (fringe/bangs). It's smaller than the back one.
I'm wearing my scarf again after getting a score of 5 already for today (it's 3:30pm).
Keep those hands busy, and let your hair be!
For me, "life goes on", is my motto. Hugs instead of tugs, you have this!
Stay strong!
Thank you Mid! Kind words as always.
Blah, I had a very (literally) painful day yesterday. I pulled a fair bit. Have pulled maybe 6 hairs today. Barriers needed.
Well I've been offered a job! It's that one I told you guys I interviewed for. Good pay, close to home, ideal job description. I've been told I'll start early December. It's 4 days a week so I might be able to keep my other 1 day a week job, I'll see. I'll continue to focus on my business and freelance work. And my art :)
As hard as it is, keep those hands busy. Painful days are difficult, and no matter what we say, the pain exists. Best wishes for a much better day today and always for you!
