Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I've been up and down again since I last posted. It's definitely a struggle at the moment. My hair looks pretty bad so that obviously makes my urge to pull even higher.
I just need to keep trying!
Thanks for the comment manda.
Keep plugging away. Think about your overall progress and remember that the tough times always end.
Thanks trichdr. Yes, those spots are like magnets. It's a very harsh cycle. Thanks for the kind words :)
I aimed to be pull free yesterday and I ended up pulling 26 hairs which is a rating of 6 for me. Aimed for the same today and I've already pulled 3 (it's 8am). So I'm aiming to pull no more.
Keep at it, every little bit we stop really does make a difference!
Keep those hands busy!
Well I pulled 26 hairs again yesterday (same as day before). I again decided to aim for pf today and so far I've pulled 9 (it's 1pm, I think I'm doing better than yesterday).
I went to yoga last night for the first time in ages and it was amazing. I really want to start regularly doing yoga and practising meditation again. Oh and exercising. Oops.
Pulled 24 hairs yesterday, so that's less.. I resisted a LOT.
Aiming for pf again today. Thank dog for toppik.
Hurrah for writing it out...somehow, that seems to help give me courage to keep going, you've got this!
I pulled 22 hairs yesterday. That's less again!
0 so far today, it's 11:30. Got a hair cut this morning and it looks loads better. I hate having so much grey, grr. I was shocked at how bad the bald spot is on the right/back of my head. Gah. It's mostly concealable with toppik and strategic hair placement. I think I've created that spot/worsened it this year while working at my job. And because I can't see it easily without using a hand held mirror, I never noticed it getting worse and worse. Piss. Aiming for pf again today.
Hurrah for doing all you do!
