Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
That mindfulness course sounds awesome. I wish it were cheaper...
The course works out to be $37.50(US) per 2hr class. Which is pretty cheap. Though I know what you mean, I can't afford it right away.
Zero hairs pulled today :)
I totally agree that touching hair is part of trich, even if it is just the habitual part.
You've been pull free for so long!!!
No pulling yesterday. And no touching my hair either!
I've never read that book, cool you did it on your wedding day! Man I was so stressed on my wedding day, no matter how hard I tried not to be. Went for a swim and sauna and everything the morning of. Probably the most relaxed I was the whole day, oops.
Ughhh the triggers today! Lots of them. The standout includes losing my iPhone. But zero pulling. Hand up hand down hand up hand down. It's 11pm. I should go to bed soon. But I won't.
ps that mindfulness class sounds GREAT
It was a pretty big achievement being pf yesterday. I even stayed up til 4am with anxiety.
I agree with you re: touching hair. The days in which I have been most successful in terms of not pulling are the days in which I am HYPER VIGILANT and DO NOT allow my hand to touch my head at all. So glad to know that this strategy is working so well for you now!
I am gonna get the Cristina Pearson book, thanks for the recommendation.
I also checked out the Christina's class seems really great, but I think I'll first read some books about the subject before considering taking the class.
