Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
I haven't read it myself but I know this one book, "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron, has helped a lot of people (helped my sister when she went through a very painful breakup). It talks about coping with grief, sadness from a Buddhist perspective. I know it really helped my sister, might be worth checking out. But definitely good to continue talking issues through with therapist!
Sending tons of hugs your way! :)
Thanks so much for your comments everyone. Thanks Manda, good idea about a new chart. Thanks Phoebe, I know, it's good to know that. Thanks for the book idea BooYah, it's a good thought. Thanks J, yep she is awesome, it's reaching into other aspects of my life too, very helpful. Thanks Phoebe, very very much.
Hmm I've been pull lite the past 4 days, aiming to be pf today. Having a schedule will help, so I better write one up.
If I'm pf tomorrow my reward is the pride of being pull free! Aaaand.. I'll watch an episode of a new tv show. I won't watch it til I'm 1 day pf.
In pursuit of Tranquility:
As an alternative if you really want to get away from it all--consider an hour in a "Float Tank," an isolated chamber.
In the inky silence of the tank, warm very salty water supports your body in the nearest thing to a weightless state this side of the space shuttle. Many people report that their cares drift away like summer's stifling heat after a windy thunderstorm. I experienced this some years ago through a program at one of the colleges in my area, I felt a deep relaxation through the sensory deprivation that it produced. It was a great experience and I wish it was more available in times of need for relaxation.
Rewards are good...Yes, watch a favorite TV show! Hugs.
Thanks for the comment Nabby :)
Happy late birthday!!!
Wooo you're gonna have a great day tomorrow, I can feel it!
If I'm pf from now til evening I can watch that new tv show. Good goal.
