You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Was good to myself this evening. Outdoor mediation, a candlelit bath while reading, healthy dinner & nice wine, good tv with husband. Very nice.

i get ya with the "playing" .. that often leads me back to pulling.. creeps up too easily.. try to eliminate it.. be gentle on yourself but try to let it go..
you are doing super well !!

I didn't.. I'm so bad a rewarding myself. I'm working on that, just being good to myself in general.

Gee I'm 44 days pull free, kinda. Yesterday was a bad day. Major urges, played a lot. My hair was in need of a wash and therefore there were lots of loose hairs. So when I played a few came out. The thing is I didn't pull them but it was so close to pulling. I also cut out two hairs that were very tempting to pull.

I'm not counting it cos I need to keep going.

I'm calm
My hands are still
My hair is thick and full
I can do this
