Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I am so jealous of Abby, because she got to meet both of you. My biggest regret is that I didn't know about your website sooner. You so quickly became my inspiration. You take everything with such grace and acceptance and your indomitable spirit and inquisitiveness about how we think and act has been a driving force for all the rest of us. Our inputs pale compared with yours. Our collective wisdom can never match the your depth, and, as Suzanne pointed out, your honesty. We have all been touched in some way by you and for that I will be forever grateful. Enjoy your family and know that apart from them, no one loves you more than we do.
God Bless You, Your friend,
Cliff
Ollie, I just want you to know that I think of you often and hope and pray you are staying strong, dealing with each day as it comes.
Sending my best wishes

Yes, every single moment of life is a gift. And being able to remember it and live it is also a gift. Thanks to both of you for bring it back to my mind. I try to remember it though sometimes forget... now when I think of it, Iwill be thinking about both of you and all this wonderful community.
Blessings and happy new year.
My heart breaks for you both. Sally, I liked what you said that Ollie lived life with no regrets. I hope one day I can say that. I've enjoyed Ollie's post and I've pictured him as a man who knows a little of everything, someone that could talk to anyone and always had something interesting to say. I think of you often and you are always in my prayers.
Trish
Sending you my love.

Sending you lots of love, good thoughts, and prayers. Stay strong and know you are loved. Sally, I am praying for you as well. As a caretaker, I know how difficult this can be. You are in my thoughts. Be well. xo
I also want you to know that you are never out of my thoughts and prayers. God Bless You.

Yesterday at about 8:30 PM I gave my courageous sweet Ollie a tearful hug and kiss as he entered a new adventure with freedom of illness and pain. I like to believe he is with his Mom and sister and very happy.
Our daughters and son-in-law will join me later today. It shall be a quiet day before I must begin making plans and taking care of Ollie's affairs. We did discuss many important issues over the past month which will make this process less complicated.
Ollie's cat, Romeo, has been close to me and giving me lots of wet nose snuggles and slurpy kisses since I returned home last evening. I believe our pets do sense our times of sadness.
I thank you all for your love and strength these past weeks. Ollie felt he had a special family with all of you. I have been reading all your messages to Ollie which comforted him.
Keep on being strong and keep everyone you hold dear very close.
My love to you all,
Sally

I am heartbroken for you. Weep not for Ollie, for he is no longer suffering. He is in a much happier place, free of pain, and has been reunited with those who have passed before him. He will always be with you. Talk to him - he will hear you. I wish I knew the right words to say. Knowing that he is at peace in Paradise will give you comfort. You will meet again. Much love to you. You are in my prayers. xo
I don't know what to say. I know that Ollie is no longer in pain and he is finally cancer free. I know he is with his loved ones. Hopefully he will meet my grandmother. I think they would enjoy one another. Love that kitty, I know how much Ollie enjoyed that cat. Prayers to you and your family. I am so sad for all of us who will miss Ollie.

My heart breaks for you, for you have lost not only a husband, but a man who has meant so much to so many over these many months. He was the philosopher King to me, always analyzing, always thinking, and so much in tune with what life is all about. His fortitude made me less nervous as I faced the unknown. His war against his disease was always tempered with gratitude for the many months that he had regained his life. I am truly beyond anguished at the moment, but am confident that as Ollie's spirit continues to seep into me (and all of us on this website) that I will rejoice that I got to know someone who cherished life and family, and someone who did not take one millisecond on this Earth for granted.
God Bless You, Sally. I wish I could give you a huge hug right now.
Thank you for being so wonderful to such a wonderful person.
