Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
Our daughters and son-in-law had a mini Christmas yesterday and we had a lot of fun. We are planning another Christmas gathering in about a week with all the fixings.
May you all remain strong. Everyday is full of challenges . . . big and/or small . . . good and/or bad . . . keep those who love you close and try not to push them away. They are your strength and the best support team in the world.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season . . . I still believe in miracles.

I was so glad to see your post. We all love Ollie more than you can imagine and I pray for him every day. He has been my inspiration through all of this mess and his sense of humor and intelligence make such a wonderful combination.
Please tell him to keep fighting. May the spirit of Christmas bring on a miracle for him and for you.
Please give him a hug for me.
Cliff
Thanks for keeping us informed!
Prayers, love & hugs.

I have been a member of this site for about eight months and have benefitted immensely from it. I am late in expressing my support for you as your battle escalates, but I have been following and interested in your progress and praying for you.
In addition to expressing my support, I hope you are happy. Happy for the great care you receive from your lady. Happy for blueberries. Happy for your medical care. Happy for the mental, physical and spiritual energy you have for the battle. Happy in the knowledge of the good you have done for others in establishing this site. Happy in an awareness of the love and prayers of others for you. Happy that your illness is not one that is worse than death. Happy in a knowledge that the Lord knows you, loves you, and looks over you.

I know I might sound like a broken record, but my love and best wishes go out to you and Ollie every day. My family has never corresponded with your wonderful husband, and yet my wife and children know his name and are also praying for his recovery. I know that this is a very hard time for the both of you, but I am wishing a total turn around with the coming of the New Year.
Cliff
Wishing you the strength to enjoy the family and holidays as Ollie builds up more strength.
Thank you, Sally, for your post. There are so many loving wishes for you both coming from all over the country.
Thinking of you always,

Voice from the never never land. To quote my favorite band, what a long strange trip it has been. Sally has kept me up on the boards, and I do wish to let you how much I love my extended family. As I continue on with my journey tomorrow and reflect back over the years, you are all gifts from God and have provided so. Much support. Will keep you all updated as am able.
This group special, and as we go through the battle of life, remember the strength we have as a group.
I have a card case from my Grandfather. Though I can't remember the author of the quote on the box, it says "Difficulties are things that show what man is." We all have our difficulties. The greatness of this group is how we handle these difficulties.
Love you all
Ollie
SO great to "hear your voice"!
For me you are a huge source of inspiration.
I wish you and your family a year of health and love, knowing these are really the important things.
