Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
We are all out here rooting for Ollie. Let's use this discussion thread to send him our good wishes and prayers. If there are any updates on his condition, we can post them here.

While I was lying in bed at the hospital, near death, I HATED taking showers! It was a big battle because I was exhausted. BUT I tried to think that running water was washing all leukemia cells. Also when I went to toilet :) I was getting rid of them.
Yes, like Cliff says, go out there and get the beast out of you !
GO FOR THE GOLD RING!!! You can fight this thing and you will. Just get better so we can have our verbal jousts again.

From the time I found this group, back in Jan 2012, when Ben, my husband, was diagnosed with aml, you have become a significant part of our life. You encourage so many of us in this group.

You said it so well! Ollie is the inspiration and optimism behind this website. His will to beat AML has inspired all of us. I pray for him every day and will now add Ben to my list. Please let us know when day 100 is on his calendar, so that we can all dance a tarantella when he makes it to his first major post-transplant milestone.

Prayers for you daily. I wish I could send you physical strength. Just keep moving forward.
My plan is to kick AML from the planet and if took me getting it, to send it into the stratosphere, then war is waged. It can be done, and you have also been my inspiration. You were the first that I knew that had the FLT3 mutation and you have given me the courage to stare this down.
