  It's been months since I have visited this site yet alone posted anything. Two years ago next week (the 19th), I had my first date with a woman I thought we be THE one. Several break ups and 23 months later, it's over. It was an on-again, off-again unhealthy relationship. I'll refer to this woman as "Cynthia." I loved her and her kids so much, but she did have her dark side (as we all do). Long story short "Cynthia" is a cutter, and she had a rough adolescent/adult life. Her last words to me...

  The break in my relationship has been a true blessing because in this time, I am rediscovering myself and getting better. Each day-with its own rewards and challenges-brings me more peace, healing, and strength. There is a long way to go still, but I have faith and optimisim-two old friends that I have missed.

  I am an active participant in my battle against anxiety. I speak with my counselors, read Scripture & seek out God's love and mercy, and I reach out and talk with famiy and friends. The fear of opening up has left me. I used to just pray and wish that things would get better and not do my part. Those days are behind me.   I am beginning to feel better from my anxiety. Reaching out for information, guidance, and reassurance I've turned to doing my own research. However, the best source of inspiration, guidance, and reassurance is coming from Scripture, God's divine words. I returned to church this past Saturday, a big step for me because I have neglected my spiritual life. It has suffered.   I am currently in counseling for depression and anxiety. My anxiety has affected my life through my relationship with my wonderful girlfriend and my job. I read a lot-books, articles, posts; the inspiration is there. However a lot of the time, when alone, I just cry-afraid to lose my gf whom I love so very dearly & my job. I am a good guy with struggles. Any suggestions are welcome.
