Age: 83

My husband of 44 years is my rock in tough times. We have three lovely daughters aged 39, 37 and 36. and three grandchildren. . I am a retired teacher and did casual teaching every so often up until the end of 2013. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in January, 2010, and a scan done for this showed a tumour on my right kidney. After having regular scans and then a biopsy , this has turned out to be benign so I am very fortunate. meRA is not yet controlled, despite over three years on the ds roller coaster and in late 2012, I also developed Lupus. Sept, 2014, again, in a completely unrelated scan, I was diagnosed with very early lung cancer and had the top lobe of my right lung removed. There was no lymph node involvement so it will now be monitored by a lung oncologist in April. I feel blessed that I was able to have surgery and no further treatment was needed. I have also been diagnosed with SS. My RA is not yet controlled, despite almost 7 years on the meds roller coaster. .
