Finally, a journal post
This year, since May, has been an "interesting" journey. In my last journal I told you about the chemo, lung radiation all going OK but the brain radiation, after chemo was finished, really knocked me. June 14th I was raced into Emergency,by ambulance. I was delirious and having problems breathing, as well as (so I've been told) fighting the nurses and doctors who were desperately trying to help me.
My Oncologist called my family to come in as he didn't know if I would make it through the night or next day but I did and woke up with 24 hours missing. I was diagnosed with severe autoimmune pneumonia, hypoxia and respiratory failure 2. I had none of the signs of pneumonia, such as a temperature, cough, aching chest. I ended up being in hospital for over 5 weeks, coming home with home oxygen and portable oxygen cylinder if we go out
However, after all the "excitement", I had a full body scan which showed up scarring on the left lung, from the radiotherapy, but NO CANCER, which was great. I have another full body scan in early January and hoping it will be a "No CANCER" result again. I am sorry it's taken so long to write a journal but I haven't had the energy to do so. I hope my DS friends are doing OK, although I know some of you are having problems.
My thoughts are with you all xxx

Hello there Pam. Greetings from the deep North and all the way to Sydney. My goodness, the next time I complain about my suffering, I should give myself a good slap and open my eyes and see what you have been through. I'm so very sorry for you my friend. All that chemo and radiation and five long weeks in hospital with pneumonia. My goodness. Again, I'm so sorry that you have been through so much just to stay alive. I'm so happy for you that the treatments have worked and I pray that all future results will be free of cancer
I am utterly amazed by your positive attitude despite so many serious obstacles. I am in great admiration of your inner strength and your association is most definitely valuable for me. I have a lot to learn about acceptance of illness.
Sending my love and gratitude to you and prayers for your body to heal. Diane.xoxoxo
