  i can't remember not having trouble sleeping. I'm 44. It's been worse for a few years after my mom committed suicide. Both my parents worked night shift growing up and they are night owls. I believe that I am genetically wired to be up at night. I am always tired. And then there are the nightmares. Almost every night, sometimes more than one. Waking up in sweat.   Hi. I founded this group tonight in a bout of insomnia about my life and my ex. We are friends on Facebook and I check his page throughout the day and to see when he logs in. I live 13 hours away now. He dumped me via text while I was on vacation. It was off and on and we have tried to remain friends. I could call him if I wanted, but I want him to think I have moved on.   I'm an alcoholic. And I don't even want to quit. It's affected every part of my life. I spend most days hungover and very depressed. I am living off savings that will be gone soon. I binge drink wine about twice a week. I don't see a sober life in my future.

  I have been severely depressed for a year. A break up, a move to a great city but no friends, arguing with my family over my morher's estate (she overdosed on a bathtub 4 years ago), increased drinking, major complaint against me at my last job. False. But enough to make a good part of my hair fall out. Entering peri-menopause. 44 single and only partially employed. The only thing that keeps me alive are my two elderly cats (17).
