My husband, Don died from lung cancer in 2007 ten weeks after diagnosis here at home with hospice. He was 60 years old and we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary just 4 months previously with no idea he was ill. My husband passed January 23 rd ,2013 from Lung Cancer...he was diagnosed with terminal Cancer 15th 2013....

My husband was 64 i was 28 yes big difference in age. May 28th 2011 at 7:01 pm he was tboned in his car door at 90 mph. I kept calling his phone the cops finally answered and said he was at the ER and they werent sure he was even alive. Never offered me a ride or anything. Long story short he lived that night but as a quadleplegic, brain injuries, many many injuries and i was his full time caregiver for 19 months. December 8th 2012 his bp went to 58/23 i called 911. The ER said he had a UTI which i knew he had once since the accident and the VA said it no longer needed treating. and tehy were keeping him. He said he loved me and mom and i went back to my and my husbands home mom was visiting i was living down state. We lived 45 mins from that hospital. We just got in bed and i got the call, he had stopped breathign 3 times and his heart stopped 3 times. We raced back there nad he was on complete life support, He stayed that way all night and had emergency surgery to remove his colon. He had toxic mega colon. I was told he may not live thru surgery was a 50/50 chance and without it he would die in 3 days or less. He made it thru surgery but i had our pastor pray over him before he went in. After surgery he got worse, i couldnt let him suffer i said to him, Lee you can let go now if you need to i will be ok. He had been breathing 80 percent on his own. INSTANTLY after i said that he went to 100 percent relpying on lifesupport to breathe. It was not a coincidence. The nurse got the dr and they talked after he was examined the nurse told me it was my decision but that he was only getting 30 percent brain oxygen. i couldnt put him thru this any more. I told them to pull the lifesupport i had already put a DNR on him the night before. I was bawling and tehy said take my time go to teh bathroom etc it takes hours, i was still in teh hall and the nurse came running and hollaring to run back to the room dont walk run she said he was gone in 5 mins or less. He was ready. 12-9-12 i said good bye. it was 10:12pm. His COD was sepsis, toxic mega colon and UTI.

These stories are heartbreaking but it is good to know I am not alone. I will add mine.

My beloved wife died at the age of 27, and I will always believe she planned it this way to join the historic 27 club, she was always like that.

My wife died of suicide. She took a bunch of the prescription medication take for my psych issues. I didn't know she did it, I had already passed out drunk. I woke up next to a corpse. I will never get over it.

The suicide was three years ago this month. I m trying to go on but it is hard.

I'm so sorry for your loss...my husband died in March of this year 2 months after being diagnosed with End Stage Liver disease..in the end, he developed hepatic encephalopathy and died of cardiac arrest. He was 59.

My Larry was diagnosed with liver cancer last November and died at home in January. We had just celebrated our 37th anniversary and he was 63. Patti

My husband died on April 5 2014.He was 58 and I was 59. He died in a single vehicle accident. I believe he had a heart attack, but no autopsy was done. My husband died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 61, I was 53 at the time. He fought it for 18 months. He died at home with his family around him. He was unconscious in a hospital bed in our bedroom and I told him it was okay to go, I'll be fine. Famous last words. He let go and died early the next morning on my birthday. I am not fine 20 months later. I still want him back.i

A year ago today my Jeanne was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. We were married 38 years we were both 60 when she died on Feb 23, 2015. Fortunately her suffering was not as severe or painful as it could have been. We celebrated every day after she was diagnosed by holding each other, telling each other how much we loved each of other. I had 4 big parties for her with our large family and friends. she saw both of our sons get engaged before she died. She celebrated her last Christmas with us knowing that she would not be here this Christmas. Her death was very peaceful and she told me the day before she died that it was time for her to go HOME, that she could not take me with her but she would wait for me. Our priest told us the day before that we would be together again in a Blink of n Eye. She died in my arms after I gave her our last 3 kisses.

My husband was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma in October 2013. He died August 21, 2015 one day before his 65th Birthday. His cancer has a 78% cure rate but the treatments didn't work. Last year he spent a total of 110 days in the hospital for various issues. hugs Arlene

My beautiful wife Amy died Feb 13th of this year at the age of 48. We were together for twenty years. She was an athlete her entire life but was ill the last six months until her death. She was losing weight and was losing her hair. She became anemic and our doctor was not sure why.
She started having feinting spells and I had taken the day off on the 13th to go to the Dr. with her to find out what the hell was going on with her. The night before her appt. she feinted getting out of the bathtub. She fell back on a small trash can and unbeknownst to me she had broken her ribs and was bleeding internally. I told her I was taking her to the ER but she refused and said she was fine and we would just talk to the Dr. the next day.
I agreed but said if she had another episode I was calling an ambulance. She feinted again when we went downstairs for dinner. I called an ambulance and they took her to the ER. They could not stabilize her vitals and could not operate to control the internal bleeding because her blood would not clot and if they cut her she would have bled to death. She died from internal bleeding but we never found out why she was having the feinting spells. She died the day of the Dr's appt.

My Husband died on August 20th or a rare lung condition. He was 68 years old and we had been together for 26 years. I never imagined I would be here without him. I feel as though I have gone to sleep and cannot awake from this nightmare!

Johnny passed away 7/27/15 of a heart attack, he complained of nausea and indigestion on Sunday night and we were up and down all night with the nausea and vomiting. His alarm went off at 5:00 and he hit the snooze (this was not normal for him) he woke up 15 minutes later, I asked him if he was going to work and he told me no, that he was going to call his boss and let him know that he couldn't work feeling like he did. I went to sleep and woke up when by bother banged on my door letting me know that he was passed out on the kitchen floor and he couldn't get him to wake up. Although we tried CPR he was gone. I never got a chance to say goodbye. He was such a wonderful man. I was four months older than he was, he died six weeks before his 52.birthday.

Hello, this is my story:
My lovely wife Karmina, was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer on Jan 20th 2015, started chemo on February the 2nd and passed away on June the 2nd. It was too quick!! Still cant believe it !! she was 40, Im 43, 3 beautiful children and Im going trough the hardest time in my life...still wonder why? how? cant find answers...Sorry to hear about your loss too...but now I know we are not alone on this. As Sharon commented before, she was complaining about being tired all the time, we though it was a stress sort of thing but no...it was that terrible cancer that took my wife away...:-(

My husband had bladder, urethra, prostate cancer, had 2 months to live. In 1997. After removal, he lived. had heart attack, they lost him in surgery, they got him back. that was 2005. AAA in 2008, they saved him, another AAA in 2010. During surgery had a Thoracic Spinal Stroke. Was bed ridden from then on. In 2013 became mental, Took him to Memphis where they couldn't find anything wrong with him, between 5 weeks in Mental and regular hospital. They called and said had a heart attack and died. The death certificate said Sepsis. That was on Feb 11th 2013, he weighed 59 pounds. He was 66 years old. We had been together for 49 years. known each other since I was 5, he was 8. His funeral was on Valentines Day 2013.. Sandee
