Its been 3 years and 7 months since I lost my husband
He died on July 4th, 2009 due to a cardiac arrest.
Shorthly after my husband passed away I came across this site. I am so greatful that I found this site it has helped me a lot to make it this far. I don't post often but still visit the site whenever I am feeling down. The support we receive from the other members are so comforting and helpful. Thank you DS members.
John and I were sweethearts in 9th grade. My family and I moved away after 9th grade and he and I didn't see each other again until 26 years later in October 2009 when we reconnected and fell head over heels in love. We planned to get married but figured we had the rest of our lives to do so.
We got married 4 days after his diagnosis in the hospital chapel after he started his chemotherapy.
It has been a year since he passed away and not a day goes by that I don't think about what it would have been like to grow old with him. He was my soul mate.
I found this site a few weeks ago and come here often to see how other people are dealing with their loss. Before finding this site I felt like nobody understood what I was feeling. Thank you to all of the wonderful people here for your words of encouragement and hope.
I lost my husband to suicide 9/8/2009.. I met him when I was 15, married at 18, have 2 kids and 7 grandkids. We were married for 38 years. I'm the same age now, as he was when he died.
This site helped me so much, when I was trying to figure out "what do I do now". I used a support site for suicide survivors in the very beginning, but moved to this site later on in my grief.
I've met some of you at our Vegas meeting, and hope to meet more in the future. We all "get it" and it's nice to have people support you and understand.
I live in the New Orleans area, and I'm a bakery manager. I think God,my family and my job were my saving grace on this journey, that no one wants to make.
I don't come here as much anymore, but drop in every now and then. Anyone that wants to chat, send me a message. I'm always open to new friends.
My name on this board is after her dog who passed away also.
