I lost my husband to lung cancer 13 Dec 09
He was diagnosed less than two months before
We were together 21 years. We got married in Apr 09
I live in Georgia
There are no words to describe how much I miss him, my life has drastically changed. DS was a life-saver for me, to connect with people who understand the all consuming grief and helping me through this tragedy, it's still an ongoing process.
It is 1 year today
Lost Debbie my wife of 25 years to I still don't know what it was.
Come here every now and then mainly to update my journal and have a rant in it. Came to es as my wife was on DS for some illnesses that she had.
It helps and hurts at the same time.
My best to everyone
Steve passed away on January 1st 2011 from multiple organ failure due to a failing heart--he was 62.
I live in Arkansas
We were married just short of 40 yrs and dated for four years before we married--a lifetime but not long enough.
I found this site about four months after being widowed and it was a life saver especially in those early months. As I approach the two year mark I still come here mostly to read and pray for those new to this journey. My prayers are with all of you.
Big warm hugs to everyone
I see so m any new people here and I know how hard this time of the year was for me but it will get better.
I'm Juanita, a "young" 72 from Northern NJ
Came home from work on 4/5/12 to find my husband, Lloyd, dead of what was assumed to have been a massive and totally unexpected heart attack. We met in '76 and married in '82. I have no children and no close family besides my four cats and Milli, Lloyd's Beagle.
I found DS very early and, though I don't post often, visit every day. This is only the second online support group (the other was a pet loss grief support forum) I've experienced, and I am regularly blown away by the incredible understanding, compassion, acceptance and unconditional love DS members have for one another.
Wishing peace and acceptance to all.
I live in southern California
I lost my husband, best friend & love of my life on Nov 9th 2012 to esophageal cancer that spread to his bones & lungs, we would have been married 29 years on Nov 12th but instead of celebrating our anniversary I was planning his funeral that day. He was only 53 & Im 51, we have 1 beautiful daughter that is 20 years old & thankfully still lives at home. I actually found DS 2 years when I was looking for support from others with esophageal cancer, I connected with a lot of great people there just like I have here, DS has been a godsend for me it's so nice to connect with people that truly understand what your going through. luv & pray for you all
I lost my husband suddenly and unexpectedly on March 23, 2007 from a heart attack at 45 years old. My son was 7 at the time. Its been almost 6 years and the grief does rear its ugly head from time to time. I am thankful for the 21 years that we were married.
I rarely post but often read and pray for everyone who has to go thru this. I made wonderful friends on DS and they got me thru some of the darkest days. In honor of my husband and in his memory I am trying to raise my son and live our lives as happy as we can until we meet again. Hugs to all xoxox
