Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Chuck passed "into me" on Dec. 18, 2011 at age 59. Obviously, last Christmas is a blur. Chuck had RCC (kidney cancer) which metastasized to his lungs and liver. He was incredibly strong, positive and joyful (and admired) even to the end, so I try my best to emulate that. We were married 27 years / together 30 years. Particularly during the last four years (after his diagnosis) we made every day "count". So hard to keep that up, but with his love and inspiration, I'm trying.
I am so thankful for all the caring people on this site. I don't think I would have survived this if not for all of you. It is nice to feel like I know you a little better...Dawn
I thank God every day for bringing me to this site and all the warm, caring people who, even with their own unbelievable pain, take the time to send love, encouragement and help to all who come to DS crying our for help.
Thank you all for being the special people you are..!
Blessings and (((((((Hugs)))))))

My husband of 41 yrs passed 15 months ago. He had liver problems and we never knew it until it was too late. I miss him so much and its still hard to believe he's not coming home.
Lost my husband Cliff to a heart attack - his first, last, and only - he was only 55, I was only 50. I saw the light in his eyes go out as he took his last breath in my arms. That was November 2007. I was living in Florida at the time. We were together 30 years, married for 28; we had 2 sons together, both of them on the Autism Spectrum.
I have remarried a widower from DS and now live in Oxfordshire, England. It has been a long and arduous journey, and my life does not look anything like it did 5 years ago.
I am one of the Community Leaders ("CL") for this group.
