Found a treatment that works! - Turmeric

Hi, I'm new to this support group. I came here to tell everyone that I used to suffer from HS, including all the "treatments" that didn't work. Antibiotics, draining, surgery, etc. About a year ago I stumbled across a natural food website that said the spice Turmeric cures boils. Well, I consider my HS sores boils so I tried it.

I couldn't believe it. I freaking works. I cyst that I had near my bikini line for over TWO YEARS started draining within four hours. It was totally gone within two weeks.

I still take one turmeric capsule a day to keep the HS under control. If I stop, it comes back. So...this is not a cure, but it is a VERY effective treatment that doesn't require doctors or medications.

Please, please do yourself a favor and just try it! You have nothing to lose - turmeric capsules are sold at Wal-Mart, I think. If not, you can definitely buy them at a health food store. Or, if you still can't find them just bite the bullet and take the powder mixed in water.

I started with two turmeric capsules with breakfast, and two with dinner. You can always just buy the powder, but I found it bitter.

Yes it works. There are about 30 of us who have been using the combination of Turmeric and Zinc for just over two years. Nearly all of us have see marked improvements in our HS. Caution...if you go off the progam for even more than few days...you will experience a flare up. It will take several days once back on the T&Z to get it back under control. Another word of caution....it can take 10-12 weeks once you start to see any improvements....Patience is key. It is also recommended that you periodically have your Zinc levels tested.

shannon...I take 50mg of Zinc every other day and 300mg of Turmeric every other day. When I have a flare up start, I take 50 mg zinc every day and up to 900mg of zinc a day until things calm down..that us usually in a day or two.

I also clean the affected areas daily with Clearasil Ultra pads at least once daily...espeically at night before bed.

Hi all,
I read this and tried the tumeric capsules, 2x 300mg daily and was very disappointed after a week as there was no change to my boils. I continued however cos we're all different and anyway, I had the bottle so I might as well finish them. I'm pleased to say it finally worked and they have all gone, it took a few weeks but I am currently boil free!!!!!!!! Ran out a few days ago and have not been able to get to the health food shop to get more yet, going in the next half hour worried the bloody things will come back now. Will make sure I don't run out next time. If you haven't tried them yet, DO! And if you've tried them and they haven't worked yet, PERSEVERE! Good luck all.

Hello all I'm really excited to try this! I've had a brake out now for three weeks. I get one lacned and 4 days later I get a new one. This one I have now is very painful and will be going in tomorrow to tell the doctors my research. Please all of you keep us informed and I will do the same. hi my boyfriend just found this room and saw the topic of tumeric he is at walgreens right now looking for it my question is i am fat and need to lose weight but when i work out i get lumps bigger an bigger,so if i take this tumeric and it works will i be able to work out or will it counter act ?????

"Collodiol Silver" is also something that is very affordable and it works wonders in controling this awful condition. I've had this for over 38 years and this is the first time I've ever had releif from the lesions. I was given this stuff for my dogs rash and it worked! I have been using this herb as well. Sometimes it matters the brand you use so don\'t give up if it doesn\'t work right away. I have not tried zinc but i will add that to my list of stuff.

question, when using the tumeric powder, do you make a paste with it? do you wash it off after a certain amount of time, what should I do exactly? Today, I made a paste with a little skim milk, applied it with a knife and put a gauze bandage over it. I have had it on for over a half hour, now I am going to rinse it. I don't know what else to do. I have been doing the zinc/tumeric capsules daily now for over a month, but they don't seem to be helping. Arggggh

Can anyone tell me how to use Turmeric? I have been dealing with HS for the past 22yrs and the older I get the longer it stay. I have been to every Doctor and had all the meds I can take. I am looking foward in trying Turmeric. I feel like I can take it any longer.

I've been dealing with HS since I was 16 years old. I'm 52 now. I know that my HS is not as severe as others but when I do have a lesion, boil, bump or whatever, it is so painful. Anyway, I'm in menopause now and had really been struggling with HS. Needless to say, I was also so depressed (HS & menopause - not a good combo). I had been discussing options with my derm doc. We even discussed using Humira. I just did not want to take that route. My family doc put me on Zoloft to reduce some of my menopausal symptoms. At about the same time, I began taking Turmeric capsules. The HS has finally calmed down. I had 1 lesion that came and went on its own. I haven't felt this good in about 8 or 9 years. I'm not sure if it's the Turmeric or the Zoloft or both. I also use Dial soap (gold bar). I'm also trying to maintain a somewhat healthier diet as well.

I know the agony and I wish all of you pain-free lives. I also pray for a cure.
