Hidradenitis Suppurativa Support Group
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, sometimes as large as baseballs, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation,...
Find the purest form you can find..900mg is potent! Try NOW Foods...or any that has been tested for lead.
How are you using turmeric? Do you apply it to the lesions or just take it in cap form or what. Would like to know. Thanks,
Colleenie
It works as supplement and it works as a paste mixed with just purified water. I'm going to mix it with zinc paste and measure the results....best luck!

I am new to this site, but not to HS. I am 48 years old, and have had HS since I was in my teens.
I used to only have problems in the groin area, which seemed to go away after having my children in my mid-thirties. Then about 6 years ago, my left underarm just exploded with it, and it's been here ever since. I have tried every antibiotic, every ointment and cream, steroid shots, the whole gambit.
After scrolling through and reading about the Turmeric and Zinc, I decided I just had to try it. I just started taking it 3 days ago, and I honestly do see an improvement. Not a huge improvement, but an improvement, nonetheless. I am very hopeful for the first time in a very long time.
Thanks to all of you for telling your stories and what works or doesn't work for you.

I take it by mouth and make a paste from the same high-potent, lead-free capsules. I mix it with a little water, hydrogen peroxide and emu oil..apply to lesions and sterile bandage...and it begins to drain rather quickly and the pain is reduced almost immediately.
Emu oil doesn't clog, it penetrates. This paste does stain..so cover completely or protect garments/bed sheets.
Truly, I've never found anything that has come close...though no cure...it gives me a level of relief I can't deny.
Hope this helps!
I told him it constipates me..and he said, very simply...just up your fiber, to which I did.

raisens are also a good option for constipation .. plus! i've read a couple of places where people who started to break out w/boils (at an early age) were given raisens by grandma, etc .. and they say they never got the boils again!
meant to say.. i eat them frequently since i've started the tumeric..
not sure if they help w/anything as far as the HS goes.. but i'm throwing everything AND the kitchen sink at this *L* ..
all the best!

wanted to add this: i have read a couple of different places, that people testified, that when they first got their original boils (as teens/youngsters) .. their grandmas .. mom's? somebody! gave
them raisens to eat.. and they said, that they never got the boils again?
that's pretty WOW-ing to me!
sooo.. i do eat raisens a number of times a week..
i think???? maybe??? there is something about them, that keeps one from becoming constipated, which contributes to toxins in the body.. which adds to the nasty contents of the boils..
hey! i'm thowing everything AND the kitchen sink (which holds all my supplements *L* at it)
tumeric.. probiotics .. garlic .. fish oils .. raisens :)
all my best to my fellow sufferers
I am very happy to see that someone does have a treatment that seems to be working from what I would estiamte about 90% of people in this forum. So after leaing the doctors office I ran out to CVS and got a bottle of 400 mg turmeric tablets and 50 mg zinc tablets. I am going to try 2 tablets of each a day, 1 in the morning and 1 at night, and see how it goes.
The funny part is after reading this post I did some research and found some results from clinical trials from around the world and printed them out for my doctor and showed them to him. He was quite amazed by the results and told me to give it a shot and see him again in 2 weeks (which i find a bit frustrating, hes my doctor and with a patient with such a rare condition you think he would be the one doing the research, maybe I should charge him.) I am very pleased that there is this alternative because he had said that if the last medicine didn't work that he would have to put me under the knife again.
Either way I am rambling but thank you sooooo much to the person that found that this suppliment can and does offer great results. I am hoping they work for me but at least in the mean time I finaly have hope again that there is something that can be done to help releave some of this pain. I;ll post back if i see any improvement. Thanks again :)
