Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

They have one in the depression support groups who moderate their forum......why don't we have one? I have always been one up for moderation even back when Thadius used to come to the boards who now is silent or gone. All someone has to do is suggest a CL to DS and we will have ourselves a community leader.

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

Has it been a Great Success on depression boards then? Last I peeked (while ago) Depression board was an out & out disaster?
Does that board 'function' better for this measure? Hmmm.
oh well.
Its just plain awful! Every other post is a bitchy whiny post about something or other. And every other post ends up getting closed! (Have you noticed?)
What the hell do we want here? Do we want help conforming to the normie world? Isn't that what most of our interactions with normies come down to already? Do we need to permanently damage or destroy the last refuge for most of us?
Sure, we can say we are all adults, and blah blah blah, and there IS truth to that, but our members themselves will be less candid, I believe, and we will probably develop an unconscious habit of conforming to normie expectations because we know our content is being analyzed.
I remember back when one of my friends got internet when it was still kinda new, and they talked about getting notices from AOL about their usage of swear words. Give me a fucking break! If I had a PREACHER, I could see letting her/him tell me I should use cleaner language, and I take it from my MOTHER, but aside from clergy and female parental figures, (my dad cusses like a sailor), I'm not interested in the idea that another person's judgment about the words I use or the topics I like to discuss is any better than MY judgment OR the collective judgment of the group for that matter.
I suppose I could well be assuming what the results are going to be, but one has to wonder what the point would be in having someone look in on us, unless they are going to act as some lame "hall monitor" as someone else called it? Lame. This is why I used to LOVE to deal with people, but I LEARNED that trying to belong to face to face groups always end in this kind of crap------people just can't handle upholding the social structure without calling in some version of the feds. I'm soooooo terribly disapointed at how few people actually have the balls to do anything without the aid of some form of constabulary. Hell, there aren't that many responsibilities here. It's not like a face to face group----no one has to take a turn bringing the cookies, or reading the material, or driving someone. But still, that's what it comes down to. This group is too much emotional responsibility for people sometimes, and that's all it takes. So, now we get the big cop out. I'm sorry. I'm just supremely dissapointed, and disgusted.
Bipolar,
1. I cannot understand why you are saying in the Community Support Group that people are encouraging you to put people forward. DS Admin as part of their programme but I don't see many here. Dizzy's post gives 28 against and one for it.
2. re the suicide post. You keep using that as your one example but you seem to have failed to see the obvious bigger picture. I don't really recall it but at the time DS was a battle ground between Traffic and a number of others icluding Hypoman. They were locked in an argument and were only reading each others posts. Both were banned via the normal method. Really if you are thinking we need CLs it would need to be someone who understands what is going on, and that particular show had been going on for weeks, months even.
Ever hear: "If it ain't broke, dont fix it."
Are we reinventing the wheel?
Oh, Brilliant, we're being treated like children now. That's just fan-fucking-tastic.
Oh, and thanks, BP Princess, for asking everyone's opinion before suggesting this...clearly everyone's sooooooo on board.
And I hate the idea most because if someone doesnt like you they could gun for you when you've done nothing wrong, and potentially get you banned.
What a load of horse shit.

Are they doing this b/c of us? Am I paranoid? It seems like we have so much drama and everything, and we don't want someone, and maybe they think we should have one b/c of the times they've had to come in and clean up our board.
