Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ah, this past week has not tielded good results. Stress + anxiety + hormones is a bad combination. From Saturday til yesterday I got 6s maybe even 7s each day.
Onward and upward!
Thanks Manda! Well "there's no point crying over spilt milk"! The past two days (fri and sat) have been better; a 4 and a 5. Yesterday was a 3 up until the evening when I read without barriers, and that's when it turned into a 5.
manda is right, you have an awesome attitude, keep that up .. and the hands down !
Trickster, it's great to belong to a group of people who understand. Here's the link I think you are after: http://helpforhairpullers.blogspot.com.au/2014/04/oh-no-i-undid-all-my-progress.html?m=1
Hi Phoebe!!!!! It's great to see you too. And it is very helpful to think about where I'd be if I never applied any effort. For starters, my self esteem could easily still be in shreds like it used to, and maybe I'd cry every time I saw new damage. I was SO hard on myself before I found this group and started learning about trich.
Hey luleeee, yes exactly! That's what I was just saying to Phoebe (before I saw your comment). Thanks for the support :)
Eek, sunday was a higher pulling day again (a 6), and yesterday (Monday) was very bad, pulling wise. I wasn't really counting but it could have been a 7 or an 8. I'm feeling a LOT of stress at the moment, caused my my upcoming year long trip around the world. There is so much to do, and I'd say 70% of my free time is dedicated to ticking things off my to do list. And I'm feeling anxious about the change and the unexpected, and anxiety about how my mum will do I'm gone. 8 weeks to go.
Your mum will be fine. She is in good hands. You have to embrace opportunities and live your life.
So today I'm awareness to know that I need to wear barriers all the time at the moment, commitment to actually WEAR the barriers, and (duh) barriers, in the form of bandaids on my thumbs. Huzzah!
