With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. I used to do a percentage thing, but that got too OCD-ish, especially if you have to backtrack. Well, it is the start of a new year... could be interesting. I just know that when I'm on a streak, I can't understand why it was so difficult to not pull, and when I'm pulling, I don't know how I'll get through the day. You just have to get over that hump. Clean hair helps a lot, which reminds me......

Stress, I'm going to find a method that works for all of us to naturally relieve those pesky symptoms that add to this project!

Also, I'm seeing improvement with my hair. It looks good when dry. I still have 3 small thin patches, and a chunk of short hair, on my crown. But I'm proud of myself. Because even though it's totally obvious my hair is thin/a little bald on my crown/front of head when wet, I've gone swimming in public (putting my head under water) twice in the past week! I was just thinking "f*** it! No one is looking at me, and if they are who cares!"
