You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.
Thanks for the advice nabby. I was thinking of loud jangly bangles as a reminder..
Try again tomorrow :) oh yes and for the rest of tonight. I'd like to report back when i go to bed with a score of zero more hairs pulled.
keep up the good fight. You are a warrior....
Uh I guess I didn't update last night. I did pull a few more. Darn. I'm out on an (not so fun) adventure today and forgot my bandaids! Must. Use. Willpower!
Thanks Phoebe. I can do better..
Breathe it out!!! xo
Aromatherapy is based on the healing properties of plants from which highly concentrated aromatic oils are extracted. Essential lois can be used and enjoyed in one of two ways: you can inhale them or rub then into your skin. When inhaled, the vapors of the oils are carried via the bloodstream to the nervous system and to the parts of the brain that stimulate the release of neurotransmitters. When essential oils are massaged into the skin the results are the same. For a quick and easy way to unwind put a few drops on your pillow and rest your head there for a few minutes. Or put a few drops into a hot bath, lower yourself into the fragrant water, and for a short while, shut off the world.
Great calming essential oils to try: Roman Chamomile, Geranium, Lavender, Marjoram, Hops, Valerian, Vetiver, Clary sage.
By massaging a couple of drops of Lavender on your scalp before bed, will help soothe any swelling and the aroma will calm you. You can mix Lavender and Geranium for a nice relaxing bath, and you can use Rosemary essential oil with or without Lavender in the morning on the scalp for growth stimulation.
Stay strong....Hugs.
Essential oils.
Thanks nabby! A fountain of knowledge as always :) That's a great idea.
Ughhhhhh I feel slightly out if control at the moment! Not good. Breathe. Distract. Barriers. Breathe. Focus. Remember WHY I'm doing this. I'm stressed. STRESS! Breathe.... Argh.
Yes breathe... After posting earlier tonight I was very good. I put my hood on my jumper up and resisted and resisted. Then..... I lurked on my phone for hours and hours, and stayed up like 4 hrs later than I should have (ah yeah I'm STILL on my phone!) and I pulled heaps. Urgh. I think.. that being on my phone really causes me to experience intense urges. I must try NOT being on my phone.
Ack. Tomorrow is a new day to try again. I dud gave many moments/hrs of success today so I can be proud of that.
Must keep it up til I go to bed.
I'm aiming for pull free today but I'd be happy with a max of 3 hairs pulled.
Day one...
