With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Haha! I thunk granit referred to the tiny hairs poking through her scalp as hair babies once. But it occurred to me that if I think of them as living little beings, I'd be more inclined to protect them. And it's working so far! I don't want to cut any of my babies' lives short.

3.28pm and doing great. Personifying my hair is really working. I don't want to touch it cos they don't like that! Hilarious but true. I'm going so feel bad if I accidentally "kill" one!

I'm trying!! Was stroking individual hairs a little bit this morning, had a stressful deadline to meet. I brought my hand down so many times. Cos my babies don't like that! The kinky ones are insulted that I think they need to be straightened or removed.

But apart from that day 3 is going well. 3:35pm and pf :)

Yeah there's one little patch of super kinky hairs, i know exactly where they are!

8:03pm, still pf. I'm away down the coast with my family. I remember this time last year I was here, and several days into my pull free, maybe a bit over a week, I can't remember exactly. That was the beginning of my 8 month streak. Hmm. My fringe was non- existent then, and now it's almost down to my chin!! I had bald patches then and now I have none! I dreamt of swimming without shame then and now I just can't wait for a hot day. WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I did it!!!!! Gotta keep it up.

Gonna be 3 days pull free :)
