  I am going through a bout of depression right now. My ex-boyfriend, whom I've known for 13 years now, referred to me as "self-centered" when I tried to talk to him about it. (He's been through this with me many, many times before.) He didn't say it meanly, but it certainly wasn't what I needed to hear. It hurt. He knows that I consider him one of two friends I can count on. Anyway, I'm just curious to know if others have had this antiquated notion of being "self-centered" or "selfish" thrown at...

  I made the mistake of accepting a teaching position at the beginning of August. I thought the position would have a little less stress than a regular classroom teacher, but it turns out that due to a massive amount of "bookkeeping," it's MORE stress. This was not indicated to me during the interview. I can't handle it, and being forced back into the school building recently hasn't helped matters. I like my coworkers, the kids are cute, but the district seems unaware of the toll they're exacting...
