  It's been a while since I've been here. Synopsis: had a four month mostly emotional affair with coworker (2 make outs, no sex). Ended two years ago and my husband found out. We have worked hard on the marriage! Still work with AP but due to covid and health issues, I have not seen him or had direct contact in a year. We are on a work text thread, but that's it. What is weird is I have been having lots of dreams with AP lately. They are non-sexual but good dreams...I wake up happy. I don't know...

  I had a brief affair with a coworker that ended 18 months ago. It was mainly emotional but clearly, strong emotions. I have had full NC for almost 5 months. Due to a major medical issue, I and won't be at work for at least another year which will mean continued NC. My struggle now is I still think about AP and missing him frequently. This makes me mad and sad because I'm still married and love my husband and we've worked really hard at our marriage since he found out about the affair 18 months...

  I haven't posted in a while. Recap: had a 4 month affair with coworker in fall of 2018. Husband found out in January of 2019. Have been working on marriage since.   I have never been addicted to a substance or gone through an addiction recovery program but I have read a lot about the similarities between the addictive nature of an affair and of a substance. Often during the affair and my recovery process, I have read through AA materials and at times, my therapist has even made some links. For me/us, NC is like staying out of the bar in a way.   I have been struggling with flashbacks recently. And not my BS, though has many (he says daily even 9 months after DDay). It is mine and because I feel like I can’t share these flashbacks with BS, I have been suffering alone.
