I have never been addicted to a substance or gone through an addiction recovery program but I have read a lot about the similarities between the addictive nature of an affair and of a substance. Often during the affair and my recovery process, I have read through AA materials and at times, my therapist has even made some links. For me/us, NC is like staying out of the bar in a way. However, my AP is a coworker and work is very unstructured at the moment and it would be so easy to "walk into the bar" right now. I am working hard to resist but I just needed that support meeting right now to keep me strong and avoid temptation and this is all I've got. So thanks for listening and helping me stay strong!
