  So... December 26th will mark 11 years since I last saw my abuser. It was the last time he ever touched me. It was the night I broke my silence and told my parents. It was the last night my family was whole. The news shattered my family like a continental shift. For years I have carried the guilt of that shift. It's particularly hard when my Nana gets drunk and laments about her broken family TO MY FACE, fully disregarding what her grandson did to me. Anyway... that's not the point of this....

  My grandma (whom I was incredibly close to) passed away in March. I haven’t been the same since. My brain has involuntarily become obsessed with death (not in a “I want to die” way, but in a “I DON’T WANT TO DIE” way). I can’t stop thinking about death, if it hurts, what comes afterwards, will I ever see her again? I freak out whenever I think about autopsies or decomposition. It’s some really messed up stuff.   have you ever dissociated so bad you felt nothing and everything all at once? Like you’re trapped in your own body? And you’ll do anything to feel something and yet not feel anything at the same time? I hope i’m not the only one.

  Hi everyone, It's been a while. That's because I was feeling better and I didn't think I needed to participate anymore. I always catch myself doing that, when I am no longer in a PTSD funk, I convince myself I'm fine and do my best to forget all about it, when really I'm lying to myself and burying my true emotions.   So I have done a very good job at pretending that I'm fine for years. However, now I can't pretend anymore. I know I need help. I've tried therapy once before but I don't think I was ready for it and I don't think that particular therapist was right for me. I just signed up for a free trial with Better Help and I just poured my heart and story out to the counselor that I was matched with but somehow I don't feel any better. I mean, she hasn't even read it yet, but usually letting it all out...

  Hi Everyone,I hope all of you are doing well, especially given the difficult time with the unfortunate deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. So my life right now consists of nothing but work - literally.   I’ve had a mini breakthrough. And it feels great.So I’ve had PTSD for pretty much my whole life (my trauma being sexual abuse I experienced as a kid) and for the past 5 years I have been very good at ignoring it and pretending that  I’m fine.
