  Today was a very busy day for me. I decided to fast again and only drink coffee & one piece of candy today. (Candy was not intentional) Fasting has actually been helping me think clearly. I appreciate having this clarity to really think about everything. I actually feel like meeting with the therapist was very helpful.   Today has been tough for me. I am trying to stay happy at work but that is easier said than done.  I miss Jay so much it hurts. I hurt because I hurt the person I love most with my lies. I refuse to ever hurt someone like this again. I don’t want it to be too late for us but I must understand if my wrongs cannot be forgiven. That is the price I have to pay for my selfishness.

  I have found a therapist that is actually walking distance from where I live. I know this is an act of God. I am going to stop by the office tomorrow on my lunch break to turn in paperwork and see how costly it is. I know it will be expensive but for me to be the best version of myself and finally stop hiding behind my lies it has to be done. Honestly even writing this down has began to help me.   I sort of realized that I have a tendency for self-sabotage. I purposely take a good situation and make it terrible for myself somehow, and it’s not like I want to but I do anyway. And half the time the things I’m saying aren’t even true, and if I don’t lie everything would be fine, but I lie and make things bad. On purpose. I ruin everything for myself, I’m my own worst enemy. And I don’t know how to stop, but I am going to be careful on what I choose to say moving forward.

  All I want to do is call him and try and repair our relationship but this is me being selfish. I know he needs space and if I am lucky at all he will possibly give me a chance. I hope and pray that he will but but I cannot expect anything.

  I LIE TO AVOID CONFRONTATION AND CONFLICTLying addicts hugely fear confrontation and conflict of any kind. Typically the only time they will be confrontational is when they are caught in a lie and will then do one of two things (or both). They will either be frozen in toxic shame and cannot respond at all or they will be mean and nasty to ensure the person backs off. They do this to protect themselves and their addiction. It is almost never to be intentionally hurtful or harmful to the person....

  DAY 1 - AdmittanceI am a selective cumpulisive liar. I believe the root of my lies are from the need to be validated and deep insecurity. I have noticed when life does not go my way, I will bottle it up and not tell a soul. Then I will lie about it telling everyone everything is fine. I feel like my problems are burdens that should not be dealt with anyone except myself, so I give it a bandaid fix for the outside world to see and I lie. The part that hurts me most is I have broken my trust...
