  My lying caused me to lose someone very close to my heart. I will probably never have this person back in my life. I hurt myself by not doing this work sooner. The past month has been full of a lot of crying, self doubt, realizations, and observations.   I have had many false starts in my attempt to stop lying. I have made promises that I couldn't keep. I have hurt those that cared about me most and who I cared about deeply. Today is the first day of trying something new. Writing a letter to the person I hurt, not to seek reconciliation, but to apologize and hopefully give them what they need to feel free and unburdened by what I have done. Recently I've been feeling intense amounts of remorse and regret. My misdeeds playing over and over again...

  I have recently come to terms with the fact that I have a problem with lying. When I feel less than, belittled, or stupid I tell a lie to make me feel better or validated. It has cost me a relationship with someone I love very much and because of my lying they don’t want me in their life anymore. I know they are not the only person I have hurt with my lies. I am currently seeing a therapist which has helped. The feelings of guilt can sometimes be overwhelming. I want to right a letter to this...
