i thought it might be fun to have a place for "you people" (i.e. HS members) to say whatever is on your mind...be it sexual or not.

maybe it will give us a chance to see the flip side of the different personalities here.

So happy for you Des, that you had such a man as your grandfather.
I'm glad your family did not have to see him suffer too much, either.
Both my maternal grandparents died in their sleep at the age of 74.
I only hope to live like you grandfather did!
My deepest sympathy for you and your family.

Your gramps sounded really fun Des. Nice to have all those fun memories!

Wish I had a grandparent like that. I only knew one of my grandfathers, and he wasn't really a family sort of guy. No real fun memories with him : (. My other gp's all passed away either before I was born, or away in Europe - so I didn't know them well. Wish I could have - but that's just how it goes sometimes.

55 photos later, i have ONE of the photo collages done! so many pics of my grampy they will have to over flow onto the "survivors" board i was doing! lol. Now my plan is to put the pictures of him in the middle, his kids around him, their kids around them, and so on. lets hope i can pull this off!

missing grampy very badly today. I have one of my urges i so often had to just drive over and surprise him with a visit. it was one of the advantages to living so close. he LOVED it when i would surprise him with coming over to bring him a bottle of lotion, something to eat, or just to talk. i always loved to listen to him talk. i HATE that i cant drive over there.

and just so it doesnt sounds gross, the only kind of lotion that would help my grampy's horribly dry skin was the kind that came from the company i work for. He used to buy it from his dermatologist, but i started ordering it for him. I have been doing it for well over a year. and it didnt matter. every month i would buy him a giant bottle and he would fumble around for his wallet and ask how much i owed him. I would always refuse to take any money for it. He always agreed, but it never stopped him from offering every single time. he would even say, "you cant keep doing this." and i would just say, "yes i can." and smile and then offer to rub some on his back since he couldnt reach it anymore. i am SO glad that i took the time to do that. i wish i could have done it longer, but i am so so so so glad that i did it.
