Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
Some things are easier said than done. The more seriously we took our marriage vows, the harder it is. The suddenness is another factor and there are many more. I hate feeling weak and needy, but, damn it, I'm doing the best I can. I don't need sermons, tough love(I give myself plenty of that), or pity but I do need the understanding and support which I've found here. Thank you all!
Ownership. Most people don't own up. And, that is really the crux of the matter. I realize now what BoricuaMami was trying to say (in a misunderstandable condosending tone, but that was my fault for misunderstnading...)
There are many people here on this site who have really grown. But,there are a lot of people who still get on here day after day and post what a f'tard their spouse was. And, how ther screwed them over and blah blah blah. And, this is ok for newbies. They're still hurting, and they are at the start of the learning process.
In life, the only person responsible for your actions is yourself. The only person responsible for you own feelings is yourself. The moment you start to blame someone else for how you feel is the moment you are slipping into dysfunctionality.
If someone hurts you. Realize that you feel this way because of you. Not because of them. You can then try and talk civially with them. Or, you can play the shit.
Now, I not perfect... I play the shit with the best of them on occasion. But, in the end, I still own up as well...
Rman's thread was a well thought out thread. And, I really like many of the comments on here. It points out the ultimate truth to why most of our marriages probably failed. And, what most of us can always use a little work on.
Good job.
