I am going to go there because we know how I like to.
From my experience women like the money you make so they can get what they want but bitch when you are not there. Well cant have every thing.
As far as I'm concerned, if you were working more hours so that daycare was avoided ... it was a good thing. While the children are very young, who wants to put them in daycare unless it's absolutely necessary?
I think overcommitting to your job can give you less time to determine if you and your spouse are on the same page with what you want out of life.
In the old days, committing to your job made you a good provider. Now, it just drains energy away from areas that you might be taking for granted.
I guess it depends on the people involved. My stbx was constantly deployed...sometimes up to a 12 months at a time. I dont feel that it ruined our relationship, and I never sought out others because he was working too much. I knew what I was getting into when I married a military man. Some can handle it, some cant. Either way, work is part of life.
GSCH....you are so fucking wrong. I worked my ass off most of my adult life. I came with a good package when my ex married me. I owned my own house, cars and a good career....and today....I own my own home, cars have two kids in college and you say 'women' like the money? I left him debt free and with a nice size of savings because I gave my 100% of earnings into our marriage....
Don't get all worked up. Your youngest has more insight to offer in this forum than Grape Ape does.
Except he was nicer than I was going to be.
Grape Ape does serve a purpose here.
He's a shining example of the person we don't want in our lives, and constantly reinforces what we don't want our children to be.
Much like me!
I say "Bullshit!"
He worked shift work for years and I sat home many a weekend and evening alone. Using his rationale, I should have been having affairs for years. I mean, after all, he was working and I was home alone and lonely.
But I didn't do that because of something called a marriage vow that, in part, said I would forsake all others. That's the part he forgot.
I think the cheaters want to use all the excuses in the world to justify their immoral behavior. There is no justification.
Let's face it: when the cheaters go before God, he won't be taken in by their stupid excuses. Why should we?
