Sexless marriage

The accepted sexless marriage definition states that this is a relationship in which sex occurs 10 times or less each year. This means that if you have sex less than once each month on average, then you, unfortunately, qualify.
I bet that if my marriage didn't fall into this category, then we would still be happy together. Why is is so hard for the uninterested partner to understand that all they needed to do, was make more of an effort to please their partner sexually?

our sex life in no way reflected anything...it is another one of the things that just doesn't add up...we had a very active, fun sex life...up until the night before he left....so confusing....ugh....

I didn't count like my STBX did, but we probably fell into that category of a sexless marriage. Why? Because after he cheated the first time, it was really difficult for me to trust him enough with my body. Even when I tried, my body was all tense and I suffered physically for it. Then there was the mental crap on his part. After his first affair it was very seldom he was able to reach orgasm. I felt guilty like I wasn't enough and therefore avoided the act even more.

This totally fucked with my head, and my past partners would testify it's not like me at all to avoid sex. I practically maul a man.

that's the difference... my stbx said "I'll have sex with you" (wow thanks) right before he asked me for a separation. WTF. he didn't understand why i wouldn't want to....um, he was treating me like shit. i would rather sleep with the mailman, who smiles and says hello at least... arghh.

I've heard something similar in this forum many a time. A couple separates and afterward, the guy says to the woman, "We can still have sex if you want," and the woman is usually disgusted. (Those women who aren't disgusted by this proposition are usually the ones who shouldn't be having sex with their exes in the first place, because they're not over them, but that's another story.)
