Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Nice to 'read' you again, hope you're still doing okay!
I'm staying on top of my morning routine (3 pgs of stream-of-consciousness writing, 10-30 mins meditation, 30 mins yoga) every day. Which I really think keeps me on track. I do think I'm starting to take it for granted a little so I'm trying to really be strict about not playing with my hair. And I really want to learn how to feel the urge to pull before my hand even goes up to my head. I just need to be more aware.
I'm so glad you're still doing good!
Wow you have a crazy (I mean this in the best possible way) morning routine! I've never been able to keep up with journal writing or meditation.
Yes, being constantly aware is so important but also really hard.
Hi mrs k!!! Oooh, so great to hear from you! Pink :)
So I've had a few "bad" days lately, with good days interspersed between them. No huge binges thankfully. I really need to wear a headscarf at all times at the moment to get me out of this rut. I managed to pull only 1 hair yesterday but I pulled 6 this evening working at my computer. And I knew I should have put my headscarf on but I didn't. I'll pop it on after dinner and going for a walk. I'll get back on track, I just need to be proactive with barriers, and also taking deep breaths whenever I get an urge/find my hand in my hair.
