Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

My aim is to get three days in a row of 3 hairs or less, and then my next goal after that will to be to get 3 pull free days in a row. Because I know it gets SO much easier after that.
I've done much better today, 5 hairs so far and it's after 3pm. I know I just need to be strict with making myself do the things that make me operate better. Eg meditating, yoga, getting to bed early enough, cooking healthy meals regularly, planning fun time with friends, spending time in nature, being creative.. And I need to be strict with DOING something every time I get an urge, like taking some deep breaths or standing up and changing rooms, or anything.
Well, I had many more days of not counting. I'm going to try to count again today. 1 so far. I'm also developing the habit of taking 3 deep breaths every time I get an urge to pull, or I do pull.
How are you? Glad to see you are still here, activity taming the beast.
Oh that's a bit gross/inappropriate.
How are things generally? Haven't caught up with you in years!
