You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Two days pull free.

Good news everyone! My hair appointment went so well. I was in there for almost 3 hours (yes, omg) and I probably felt uncomfortable about 2% or less of the time. I really must go more often. It's been well over a year since I last went. My hair looks much much prettier :) :) :)

Really don't want to pull any of my pretty hair out. Pf so far today, I'm aiming for 1 day 100% pull free.

Gueeeeeesss what?! Well, not 100% pf. I accidentally pulled 1 hair. But that's it! Super amazing.

Night not over yet. I look forward to reporting back tomorrow with the same status.

You rock! I have had my first pedicure ever, and it seems to have the done the trick for me to relax around my eyes and scalp. So thrilling you enjoyed the hair appointment, and keep it pretty!

So glad the hair cut turned out well. But I'm sorry life has been stressful. Just are hairs...sounds like that's progress from how it's been lately. Progress is good :). Hope today is better for you.

Thanks Kaux! Very much. Hm I"m finding it hard today, keep subconsciously reaching up and pulling out super loose hairs. My count is at 5 at the moment. Just gotta keep the old hands down...

Dum dum DUUUUM. I prob pulled about 10 or more yesterday. Gosh darn it. Today is a new day and I'm determined. I'm also determined that if I pull one, that it's not "game over" and it can still be a successful day.

    My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending.  She said that there are needs and there are wants.  She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it?  The answer is mostly "no".  So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed.  I also bought sheets that I don't need...
