Beating Trich Community Group
You mean that there is a name for IT? Im not weird? Trichotillomania, that big, long word that is the bane of our world. With knowledge and support of others we CAN break free and live without this disorder interfering with our lives. Lets keep this uplifting and supportive and give each other the encouragement the other needs to make it to that next day.

Hi, My name is Sam and I'm new to this group. I am 23 and have had trich since I was 12. Over the years I have tried many times to stop, however it's only this past year that I have started to research ways of stopping, and have been really determined to do it. I plan on doing so with a combination of understanding, will-power, exercise, trying the John Kender diet, and seeing a therapist. I love designing, illustrating, cooking, extreme sports, exercising, seeing live music and reading. I would love to provide others with encouragement, and maybe get some support when I fall.

Congrats, on getting married and on such an awesomely long pf. You'll get back in the saddle when you're ready. It's hard to keep the necessary level of intensity up all the time. Hugs to you.
Come on Sam!! You can do it an you know it! :)
Good call Lien, those are the first steps. Thanks :)
Thanks Phoebe, yep, I know. I am NOT doing well. Super stressed at the moment, there are some insane bushfires in Australia at the moment and it's very scary. My mother, and grandfather may have to evacuate.
Must try harder...
Thinking of you :)
Argh I am not doing well. Spree after spree. There are spots just begging for me to pull every hair on them. I just then made sticker charts for October and November. I can do this.
Pulling is not worth it. It's not worth it!
I agree.
Urgh time to grit my teeth.
I'll always remember the way shebepo said it..."do you really want to give it up for the cheap thrill of a pull?"
Hey Granit - http://www.dermmatch.com/ It's basically a compact of compressed powder. You need the tiniest amount, and I apply it to my scalp when my hair is wet. It's very helpful for thin hair and small bald patches.
Manda and Phoebe, you're right, I know. Yet I'm choosing the cheap thrill consistently. Ok I'm going to try again.
Ha thanks Mid for the image :)
I just booked a cut and colour for tomorrow. I am NOT happy with my hair at all, but I think I'll feel much better about myself if I get this done. Ughhhh why do salons have to have so many mirrors??? And be so bright! Whatever they do it'll look better than how it looks now.
