Adult Bedwetting Community Group
A place for adults who still have problems wetting the bed to talk about their feelings, to discover solutions, and to talk about life in general.

Hi all,
This group has been going for awhile now! A lot of us kind of know each other already, but a lot of new people have joined who may not be aware of who is here or what kinds of issues we deal with. So, I thought it might be helpful if we all take a couple minutes and answer a few basic questions about who we are and why we're here... so that everyone in the group can see how many different people deal with this problem.
This is completely optional of course, but I hope it will help a lot of us who are still active here (longtime and recent members alike) to get to know and understand each other better!
Just 8 questions -- answer as short or as long as you want to. Complete sentences not required. :)
1. Your age group -- just the decade is fine (e.g., 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, etc.)
2. For how long have you had bedwetting problems?
3. About how often do you wet the bed currently? (Every night, most nights, once a week, twice a month, etc.)
4. Do you have any issues with urinary incontinence during the daytime? If so, how often?
5. Do you know or have an idea what causes your wetting problems?
6. What steps do you take to try to manage or control your bedwetting? (Absorbent products, bed pads, alarms, medication, fluid restrictions, timed awakening, etc.) Be as specific or nonspecific as you like!
7. Who else knows about your wetting issues? (Family members, friends, etc.) Are they supportive?
8. What are you most hoping to gain from being part of this group? Tell us whatever you are hoping to see happen here -- learning more about the facts of your condition, getting to know others, meeting new friends to chat with, just knowing you're not alone -- whatever is on your mind!
Thanks for taking the time to share with us! Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns about this group!

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...

6. Fluid restriction and setting an alarm to wake up. Fluid restriction back fired as it showed up in blood tests that I wasn't drinking enough and my whole body is still healing and needs to be well hydrated. And even when I get up to pee at around 3 am I still have had accidents later that same morning.

40 to 49.
2. How long have I had bed wetting problems?
Pretty much on and off all my life, but particularly so in the last six months.
3. How often do I wet the bed?
In the last six months, almost every night, currently I rarely wake up having not wet.
4. Do I have any daytime incontinence issues?
No. Although recently damp spots on my underwear are making me very worried in case it increases to daytime as well.
5. Do I know the causes of my wetting problems?
An issue I've dealt with all my life, but becomes more extreme with stress or anxiety.
6. What steps do I take to manage or control my bed wetting?
In the past when it was generally less frequent I used bed pads as wanted at all costs to avoid wearing a nappy. In the last six months I am wetting almost every night now so have no choice but to wear a nappy, with bed pad in case of leaks. It's the only way to have a full nights sleep.
7. Who else knows about my bed wetting?
Other than the doctor, no one. My parents knew I had bed wetting problems but as far as they're concerned i grew out of it as I left home. I'm on my own now and realise that's not going to ever change. That is why it's so nice to be able to talk on here and try to not have to be ashamed. It's so nice just to be able to vent rather than keeping it quiet.
8. What am I hoping to get out of being part of this group?
A chance to talk with others that have been living with the same problems without feeling ashamed, a chance to freely tell my issues and share experiences.

1. Your age group -- Late 40's
2. For how long have you had bedwetting problems? -- Much of my life, but got worse after a fall from a 2nd story window that caused knee and back injury.
3. About how often do you wet the bed currently? (Every night, most nights, once a week, twice a month, etc.) -- Every night.
4. Do you have any issues with urinary incontinence during the daytime? If so, how often? -- Long drives or sitting for a long time like mowing the grass on the lawn tractor.
5. Do you know or have an idea what causes your wetting problems? -- Nerve damage, but also had issues growing up. Not as bad, but I have wet the bed from time to time.
6. What steps do you take to try to manage or control your bedwetting? (Absorbent products, bed pads, alarms, medication, fluid restrictions, timed awakening, etc.) Be as specific or nonspecific as you like! -- Tried everything and found out that fluid restriction is not a good idea. Eventually found that a couple of of online companies sell absorbent products (Briefs) that tend to do the trick. Rarely do I have leaks and I feel confident enough that I travel without any issues.
7. Who else knows about your wetting issues? (Family members, friends, etc.) Are they supportive? -- Wife knows and is very supportive.
8. What are you most hoping to gain from being part of this group? Tell us whatever you are hoping to see happen here -- learning more about the facts of your condition, getting to know others, meeting new friends to chat with, just knowing you're not alone -- whatever is on your mind! -- Just want to know if there are other's out there with the same issue and would like to discuss our challenges and solutions without dealing with the ABDL group.
Funny thing is, you wouldn't know me from the next guy walking down the street. I'm somewhat athletic, and play sports both in various adult leagues and with my kids. I'm a coach, a father and an executive of a large technology company. After my injury, which didn't seem like a big deal at first as I walked away from a fall, I later found myself having knee surgery. Then I also started wetting the bed. I had bed wetting issues when I was younger, but not to that extreme (nightly).
Saw several doctors, specialists and even went to a chiropractor who all poke, prodded and xrayed me and told me that there was nothing wrong. Well, not all, at least the chiropractor did recognize nerve damage and he tried to help with adjustments and electo-therapy. But every time he applied the electo therapy, I would wet myself. It was embarrassing to say the least. So, I only go to him when my back really is in pain and I use the depends underwear to protect things.
Other than bedwetting, I rarely, if ever have daytime accidents. I can tell if my bladder is full, so I would need to find a restroom. But, if I wait too long, I may start to leak and not know it as I don't get that strong sensation.
Just some of my challenges that I learned to deal with and manage. By doing so, I've been able to lead a normal active life.
