Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
Xoxo
Glad to hear your counts are back strong again.
My Mum has seen a drop in WBC and platelets today. She just got back from an 8 hour flight on Monday so praying this could be a factor and maybe some kind of infection causing it as the cold virus is doing the rounds too.
Doctor has scheduled a BMB for next week. Worrying times again.

Also today, I had an iron study via a liver MRI triggered by high ferritin and 24 red blood transfusions. If the findings are high iron stores in my liver, I will commence monthly phlebotomy. According to my med team, high iron stores in the liver causes liver cancer-no thanks. One per lifetime is plenty :-)
In Jan I meet with my med team to discuss moving to labs every three months and clinic visits every six. I am so looking forward to getting months between labs. I now can go weeks without thinking about my AML but when the monthly visits approaches my anxiety spikes.
As we enter into the amazing Christmas season celebrating the birth of the Savior of the world, I am so humbled and blessed that the creator of the universe would send his one and only Son to die for a wretch like me. No matter the sin, He is faithful and forgives with grace and mercy. That is the Good News!
God bless each and everyone of you and your loved once. I am praying for all of you and count you as friends!
Blessings,
Julie
You are always in my prayers.
