  I have horrible veins and always have...in fact, I had a PICC Line because of them; in 2014, the line got infected and the infection went through a hole in my heart I didn't even know about, caused a brain aneursym and eventually a stroke.  So, needless to say, I'm a bit leery of PICC lines, Ports and such.  However, I now find myself in a situation of having to get IVIG Infusions every two weeks.  My bruises from them 'trying' to find veins haven't even worn off yet, and they're...

  I found out I had CVID about a year and a half ago; I started out on Octagam and they have been fine tuning my 'cocktail' ever since.I ended up premedicated with Aleve, Zantac, Zyrtec three days before and three days after, as well as steroids immediately preceding and following my Miracle Potion; however, my side effects of fatique, aches and other flu-like symptoms were so extreme and lasted so long they decided to change products.For the past two Infusions, I've received Gammaguard with the...

  Getting Fevers

  I missed an Infusion and am already having side effects; I'm not sleeping, I'm getting fevers every afternoon despite taking Aleve, Advil or Tylenol.  The Octagam has made me sick for the past three times...within a few days I'm in bed with flu-like sypmtoms for two days.  Despite giving me steriods, Aleve and a plethora of other meds, I still become ill.So they are changing up what they give me.  Does anyone else get fevers for no reason?

  Need Resources for Teen Daughters

  I have two daughters who I'm 99% sure have CVID like me...makes me really sad; they should be enjoying the prime of their lives.  The oldest is in Nursing School and the youngest is a Junior in High School.  Both are super fit and ultra responsible.  It breaks my heart of think of them having this life-long disability.They've watched me struggle not only with headaches and not feeling well, but also have a seen me have a stroke and nearly die.  They've already have a really rough go of it....

  My Liver Enzymes have been elevated for my last few transfusions...like triple what they should be. I'm unclear as to what this means.  I feel fine.  I'm going in a week before my next Infusion for a blood draw to see what my levels are.  Anyone else have this issue?

  I've been receiving Infuions for nearly six months and haven't been getting the bladder, sinus or intestinal infections that I had previously had which I am so thankful for; however this last Infusion was kind of a nightmare.I'm a tough stick anyway, but I stopped counting after the sixth poke.  Then two hours in I started to get hives despite all my premeds.  The doc came in and looked, gave me an explanation I didn't understand and an allergy pill.  It seemed to help a bit.  But lo and...

  How long after Infusions do the affects take place?  I've only had five Infuions and with last few, two days later, I got a fever and terrible Migraines.  I don't know if it was coincidince or if it's the Treatment.  Anyone have a similar experience or know?
