  Did anybody feel like their relationship with spouse changed after recovery?   I'm finding it difficult. I am 6 months sober & feel more distant from my husband than before.  I don't like it & he won't go to a couple counseling just yet.  Should I stick it out ?

  Newly trying to get sober 2 weeks, already had a backslide but not going to give up.

  In a marriage 44 years, trying to get sober for 2 weeks. My Question  : how to deal with a backslide , feeling guilty.  Spouse treats it like a failure and uses it against me by threatening to tell my adult children including  photos he has as proof.   I feel like this is wrong, what say you? And how do I handle the feeling of my trust being broken, my backslide  used as a punishment against my vulnerability during this trying to get sober journey.   Thank you in advance.

  Yay for me ! I just finished my first AA meeting.   It was sober seniors.  Tomorrow I'll try a womens meeting.   Hoping to meet some like minded people.   I'm kinda a loner and definitely have problem drinking. My spouse is supporting but his patience is running thin.  I need to meet people and get out , so thought AA is a good idea.
