Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Did anybody feel like their relationship with spouse changed after recovery? I'm finding it difficult. I am 6 months sober & feel more distant from my husband than before. I don't like it & he won't go to a couple counseling just yet. Should I stick it out ?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

First does your spouse drink to excess
If so... then he is upset that his drinking partner is gone..
If not... then weirdly the spouse feels the control is lost and YOu are now more in control of you.
Also I would consider the whole picture.
When I quit my wife was so worried I would relapse. I guess she still is after 12 years...
The main thing is to just live a better life And make what I call living amends. Don’t apologize, just live better and move on.
Ps in the intamite role. Booze was a costume that we wore... relax and just go with it. Don’t be so self critical. Chill out. ⛄️
Do I kick her out? Hell no! I accept her as she is. My love is aways there, I cannot change her medical condition, but I can change myself to deal it with compassion.
