  Can you call it a relapse if you had only been sober 10 days? I hate this problem and I hate that it controls me.

  I haven't really had cravings for alcohol until today. I don't know why today is harder than any other day. My husband asked me to stop at the store on the way home.  I didn't, because I was afraid if I stopped I would buy alcohol. So I came straight home.  It almost physically hurt to make myself come straight home.  I joined in on my first zoom AA meeting, just to observe. I don't understand why so far I have been ok, and then today I realllllly want a drink. Any thoughts? Or suggestions...

  Day 5 without a drink. Without hiding things and keeping secrets. Without feeling ashamed of my choices. It's hard. But maybe there's a light at the other end of this tunnel. I just wish it wasn't so hard. I wish I could drink normally like other people. Just one or two every now and then with friends. This is hard. But we can do hard things. We were made to do hard things.

  Hi. New here and never done an online support group. I struggle with anxiety and depression and have been using alcohol as a way to escape and calm down. Which was manageable, until it wasnt. I know better because my mom is a recovering alcoholic (22 years sober) and I'm so embarrassed and mad at myself for getting into the same situation. I'm reaching out for help early because I recognize its a problem and I refuse to put my kids and husband through that. I'm determined to get healthy, but...
