Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Day 5 without a drink. Without hiding things and keeping secrets. Without feeling ashamed of my choices. It's hard. But maybe there's a light at the other end of this tunnel. I just wish it wasn't so hard. I wish I could drink normally like other people. Just one or two every now and then with friends. This is hard. But we can do hard things. We were made to do hard things.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless
You’ll see. Keep adding days.
As I gave away the alcohol I added the habit of drinking water throughout the day and eating a healthier diet. My body really responded to that and it gave my mind the nudge to change. Started daily walks and stretching.
I turned 50 last fall and I’m in the best shape of my life because I make a choice each day to take care of myself.
I never imagined that these little changes would make such a huge change in how I feel about myself. It’s like a miracle actually.
And it’s free and available to everyone.
Courage is the path. It’s scary to let go of the old you so a different person can emerge. The thing to remember is that the true self has been there all along just waiting to welcome you home.
You can do this! Want it more than anything. Anytime you think about a drink, immediately take yourself to the next day, or three days later, and how miserable you will feel. Really dwell on it, the emptiness and embarrassment. Recondition your brain to associate that pain with every thought of alcohol you have.
I know I can’t have the high without paying for it with the “awful”. I haven’t had a hangover in 11.5 years and I promise you I will never feel like that ever again.
Choose Freedom, Choose never again!
