  I had my meds changed yesterday from Effexor 150mg to Lexapro 10mg and Buspirone 5mg (2 x a day). Today was my first day of the switch. I have had warnings that coming off Effexor is difficult. Anyone have experience? Also, found out I am in perimenopause, so hormonal fluctuations are what are driving a lot of my problems right now, both physical and mental.

  Hi friends,I have been AWOL for a while, as things got busy and life seemed okay. Two weeks into stay at home I once again disintergrated. On and off, usually about 1 to 2 weeks of an "episode" with several weeks of normal in between. I have researched everything of course to diagnose myself.   Two weeks of "shelter in place" were fine for me, doing little projects, enjoying hobby activities, watching tv. Then I felt it coming and it hit me hard. It is depression feelings too this time, almost like grief. Of course, this time I am never going to get better (I know I will, but it is getting harder and harder to believe that).   I'm not sure what I am looking for here, but I guess some idea that I am not alone in this and maybe some treatment ideas. I have had generalized anxiety disorder for about 12 years, was on citalopram with no big issues and seemed pretty good. Occasionally some bumps in the road but nothing too big.
